About The Jukebox Giants

Hi, welcome to the website of our band The Jukebox Giants, a 4-piece Rock 'n' Roll Band based in the North East Midlands.

The band began in 2007 after Mick, who had played guitar, on and off (mostly off) since his teenage years, asked Kev and Dave if they would like to be in a Rock 'n' Roll Band. They foolishly said yes and the Jukebox Giants were created. In the summer of 2010 Mike, an experienced performer, joined the band, accelerating its progress. Gigs soon followed and the band performed regularly around the East Midlands area. Mike left the band at the end of 2013 and the Jukebox Giants went on the lookout for a new lead guitarist. Enter David, bringing a lifetime of semi- and professional guitar playing to the band. Both Kev and Dave left at the end of 2016 and were replaced by Shades, a drummer steeped in Rock 'n' Roll and Mac on bass, who, unfortunately had to leave the band shortly after due to illness. Luckily, Carl was around to take up the bass baton and run with it. Great to have him on board. In 2019, after 5 years with the band David left to

pursue other opportunities. Welcome Ashley, our new guy on lead guitar.

The music we perform is from the golden age of Rock 'n' Roll and our band name is an acknowledgement of the hugely popular artists whose 45rpm vinyl records were played relentlessly on those iconic jukeboxes, like the ones featured throughout the site, in the late 1950s, through the 1960s and beyond.

In a typical set, of course we perform many of those great songs but we also take an occasional excursion into later years to show how, even with the decline of the jukebox in pubs, clubs and coffee bars, Rock 'n' Roll, and the artists who played it, continued to influence later generations of pop and rock music artists, as it does to this day.
